Analog Power Supply Design Workshop
With Texas Instruments
From PoL to Bias Supply to Isolated Off-Line PSUs
In partnership with Texas Instruments:
Overview
This comprehensive, hands-on, laboratory-based analog power supply design workshop provides an in-depth look at the design of modern, stable and robust switch mode power supplies. Covering general principles of stable power supply design from DC/DC and PoL to bias supplies and isolated off-lines, this workshop is aimed at design engineers who need to design and/or troubleshoot modern high performance power supplies.
All attendees will receive a free trial license for Biricha’s Power Supply Design Software WDS and PFC Loop Design Software PLD*
The workshop begins from first principles and looks at the fundamentals of switching power supply design covering Bode plots and control theory. All theory is supported with numerous hands-on labs using popular controllers from TI and all attendees should leave the workshop feeling comfortable with stable compensator design for both voltage mode control and current mode control. In addition to Forward type topologies (e.g. Buck) and Flyback topologies (Flyback/DC-DC Boost/ Boost PFC) is also detailed study of opto-isolated and bias power supply design using industry standard optocouplers and programmable references such as TL-431.
The attendees work alone or in pairs at a workstation. We have a total of 10 workstations, so the total number of attendees is strictly limited to 20 engineers. Each workstation consists of an Omicron Lab Bode 100 Vector Network Analyzer, a laptop running Biricha design software, a SIGLENT SDS2302X oscilloscope and several isolated and non-isolated power supplies to design and test.
